Texas Premiere in Austin

When we left Austin over a year ago, our ultimate dream / goal was to one day return home to release our documentary film. The Texas Premiere of Faith of the Abomination was a tremendous success at the 23rd Annual Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival! The Sunday afternoon screening of our documentary played to a sold-out house! AGLIFF: thank you warmly for making our dream an awesome reality.

PROJECT UPDATE: Finally, after four years and numerous attempts at getting a response from Pastors Lee and Sue Boss of Victory Christian Center Austin, the Press we received in Austin motivated Pastor Boss to speak with Joshunda Sanders of the Austin American-Statesman, but only after the article was published.

Here's his response (in purple) - "I really don't have much to say, because how do you respond to a bunch of untruths." Untruths? It's all caught on tape for the audience to see for themselves. "They did not let us know that they were a homosexual couple, if they had let us know that, we would have treated them the same." Really? Pastor Boss, you now have an opportunity to put your money where your mouth is. We will gladly make ourselves available to minister to your congregation as you had CL and Cammy minister to Victory Christian Center; all we need is an invitation. Shall we?

"I don't know what their beef is with us or anyone else. We did not share anything with them that we wouldn't share with our board of directors." The documentary film speaks for itself. Our beef isn't with the pastors, Victory Christian Center Austin, or anyone else. Our beef is against the wrong teachings coming from the leadership of the Evangelical Organization.

Upcoming Screening: College Station, TX

Official Press Release

Anti-Gay Church Punk'd by Lesbian Ministers

In a provocative new documentary film premiering at the 23rd Annual Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival, two lesbian ministers (Ceil and Han) masquerade as husband and wife (CL and Cammy Morrison) to infiltrate a dogmatic, Austin-based, Evangelical Mega-church.

Penetrating the "inner circle" of the church leadership, their experiment would expose a scheme that's sure to rock the foundation of fundamentalist religion. The ultimate irony comes when the lesbian couple successfully dupe the homophobic pastor as he swindles his faithful followers to build a multi-million dollar empire.

Faith of the Abomination... A frightening journey with no scripts, no retakes, no safety net.

Faith of the Abomination World Premiere

Thank you, Tucson and The Loft Cinema, for making the World Premiere of Faith of the Abomination a HUGE success!

We want to acknowledge our panelists and moderator for their participation in the post-film discussion. Your contributions were priceless!
(From left to right of photo: Rev. Dr. William H. Knight: Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, Rev. Dr. Lucas J. Mix: University of Arizona Episcopal Campus Ministry, Rabbi Miri Fleming: Community Rabbi, Michael Adee: National Executive Director of More Light Presbyterian Churches, Han Nguyen: Filmmaker, Ceil Melton: Filmmaker, and Meridith Little: Moderator)

In all fairness, we had also invited pastors of anti-gay churches in the Tucson area to participate in the post-film panel discussion. The invitations to Pastor Zane Anderson of Victory Worship Center, Pastor David McAllister of The Cool Church, and Pastor Greg Lavine of New Life Bible Fellowship were ignored, and the empty chairs are a representation of their absence.

Finally, to Wingspan, Water of Life MCC, our fans, and the many individuals who helped us pull it all together: THANK YOU!
